A Barn Update!!!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to update YALL' on the barn happenings. We have not been slacking here at The Vintage Barn!! We have been cleaning up 95 year old pigeon poop, old hay, petrified bird nests and some found treasures along the way. The best treasure of all, finding the floor of the barn once again!! The wood is remarkably BEAUTIFUL, three power washings later! Some aspect of the floor have to be replaced and siding estimates are coming in. Progress has been slower than anticipated but a DREAM come TRUE nonetheless. I have some photos as usual....not Christina G. Photography but they will tell the story!!

This power washer has got some KICK!!

So beautiful to see the old barn getting a bath after 95 years.

Barn move to BARN MOVED!!!

For those of you following our BLOG on the Barn Move, you can exhale!! It has officially landed on it's target. Yes, there is still some tweaking to do here and there before the barn is a permanent fixture but the major part of it journey up hill is over. We are excited to have one of our local newspapers (Coeur D' Alene Press) pick up the story for publication in the next few days. In the meantime here are some more great photos of its JOURNEY....

Never a dull moment!!

So, have you ever wondered how they move a BARN. It is definitely a process. The past few days have been BUZZING around The Vintage Barn!! Not only have we been working on and around the barn but also replacing a much needed septic system! To top it off it is POURING rain as you will see in some photos. Hope you enjoy keeping updated on our journey. Never a dull moment on our farm!!

If I had to make up a name of a new dance move about the barn it would be called "The Barn Slide". They literally slide the barn on beams and rollers.Sometimes it make a really creaky sound when they move it like opening an old door except x that by 100!!

Barn NEWS FLASH!!

Ok..so I thought a barn could't be lifted much higher. Well, today it was definitely taken to NEW heights!! It is so awesome to see this restoration right before our eyes. Up, Up and away!! Barn Update!!

Well, the barn is officially off the foundation! Okay, so I get excited about the 12 inch lift of the day but hey it is PROGRESS. I am making this short and sweet and letting the photos tell the story. Next week, if all goes well, will be the BIG move......stay tuned!!
